“The Happiest Brand on Earth” is how Olivia Cheng illustrates the immersive experience that is Dauphinette. The SS23 Collection, “Fragile,” explores fashion as an exhibition of art, in which each piece is created like a sculpture at a gallery with significant meanings and explored through a variety of mediums. “Fragile” draws inspiration from the depths and layers of the life and universe beyond its materialistic purpose. Cheng crafts products one interacts with daily into clothes. Her genius creative direction challenges the audience to reimagine our relationships with the different objects in our lives from chili peppers to egg shells to plates and spoons to flowers. Through minute details, the collection offers social commentary about human life and existence and our daily surroundings. “Fragile” solidifies itself in Dauphinette’s archive as a collection that delivers beautifully idyllic masterpieces crafted with the most undying love from a passionate designer.
