the evening primrose is a flower with yellow petals. representing its name, it only blooms at night. for years and years, asians could never "fit" the beauty standard in america. whether our eyes were too small and slanted or our noses were too flat or our eyes were too dark, asians weren't considered beautiful. but now that the evening has come, suddenly everyone is raving about asian features and even starting trends that fetishize and undermine the years of insults asians have received for the same features that they are now being praised for. just like the evening primrose, asians have only been appreciated in the evening, when asian features became "in trend". but instead, we should all appreciate the evening primrose's beauty whether day or night, just as we should appreciate asians' (and all races') beauty whether "in trend" or not.
