they’ll search for us in the flashing lights of cities. 

under the whitewashed lights of holland tunnel, promises spilling from our lips like the cars in front of us. 

we spray these walls with secrets we dare not say out loud, graffiti straining our eyes and staining our hands. 

we wear secrecy like runway vogue, confidence and courage dripping down our bodies and reflecting the neon life around us.

there is safeness in the shadows, but there is something to be said about the sense of home in crowded cities.
