New York Men's Day Fall/Winter 2023

by Sravya Balasa and Victoria Huerta

On the first day of New York Fashion Week on Friday, February 10, New York Men's Day (NYMD) held their 19th showing, presenting 12 emerging menswear and genderless designers. With brands CROSS EYED MOOSE and Nobis sponsoring, the showcase created a central space for emerging designers, its presentation style allowing guests to observe the details of the clothes. Terry Singh was inspired by his Indian heritage culture, drawing from dhoti and lungi skirt styles that men wear casually at home. His collection used those cultural elements to create a bridge to modern genderless fashion. When asked what his favorite piece from his collection was, Thai designer Bulan's Beam Ratchapol Ngaongam responded that he only displayed his favorite pieces, crafting his handknit debut collection inspired by mental health awareness. With different styles, each designer at New York Men's Day redefined menswear and genderless fashion could be.
