This past Thanksgiving looked a little different and a little more digital, but for many, family traditions lived on. Much like other immigrant households, my family holds Thanksgiving dinner unconventionally--instead of looking forward to turkey and mashed potatoes, I look forward to traditional Chinese hotpots. This way, just like steam swirls over us as we cook meat and vegetables together at the table, two cultures swirl together as we give thanks and feel grateful we made it this far.
