Being in a predominantly white area, I definitely have my fair share of white friends. Im so grateful that I have friends that appreciate my culture even though they’re not familiar with it. My best friend, Mia Simon, wanted to capture my culture through photos and it went so well. I chose to wear my dad’s wedding shirt which is a traditional barong and pair it with one of my mom’s favorite dresses. It shows the growth of me loving my identity rather than wishing I was white when I was growing up.
