Over quarantine, I got back into graphic design and most of my inspiration stemmed from the concept of adding modernity to traditional artwork. When I was thinking about what to do with Van Gogh's Starry Night, I immediately pictured two koi fish swimming in the middle of the frame. This blossomed into my Asian-inspired rendition of the traditional piece that transforms a blue-hued night scene into a loudly oriental celebration of culture. I'm proud to say it pays homage to my heritage.
